Thinking of yesterday

How God made a way

What we used to do

How we made it through

All the moments we shared

All the dreams we dared

What made us strong

Whether we were right or wrong

How we did our dance

When we got a second chance

Hanging on God’s word

Cause it’s all we’ve heard

Thinking of a different time

Before we reached our prime

Remembering how far we traveled

Why our souls never unraveled

How our hearts ran free

When we saw what’s meant to be

Why we sat still

How we accepted God’s will

The silent prayer

That showed God was there

What we learned

All the stripes we earned

When we found a treasure

Beyond all measure

The hand we hold

When our story was told

How we survived all these years

How God removed our fears

Why we share beautiful things

Along with joy life brings

What we left behind

How we found peace of mind

How God kept us close

Cause we matter most

How we saw something real

What our hearts can’t conceal

When we feel God’s affection

And have His protection

When God filled us to the core

Then gave us more

We’re forever young

The Mountain We Climb

We face every day

Knowing God will make a way

The road is long

But faith keeps us strong

Naysayers we ignore

Cause we’re filled to the core

We embrace our mission

With crystal clear vision

Every step we take

Is a memory we’ll make

We hang on God’s word

Soul Searching

Looking at my heart

To see where to start

Saying a silent prayer

As I see God standing there

Wondering what’s real

What my heart can’t conceal

Wondering about my mission

Trying to clear my vision

Trying to stand

As God holds my hand

Trying to ignore the noise

Trying to show some poise

Thinking of the journey

Searching for a place

Filled with mercy and grace
