End Of The Road

We started a journey

Planned by God only

We didn’t have a care

We had so much to share

We held hands

As we made plans

But we got lost

We didn’t know at what cost

We can’t pretend

We’ve reached

The end of the road

Our hearts and souls came together

We thought we’d last forever

As strange as it seems

We shared many dreams

Nothing could have been better

We loved each other to the letter

We took each other in

God showed us where to begin

And now we can’t pretend

We’ve reached

The end of the road

Our love was sweeter than morning dew

We thought it would carry us through

We knew it was real

We lived it with zeal

God planted the seed

We should have taken heed

It didn’t take long

For things to go wrong

Now we can’t pretend

We’ve reached

The end of the road

Thankful

As I reflect on this day

I want to say

I’m thankful

Thankful for blessings granted

And for the seeds God planted

He’s been present for sure

He makes me feel secure

He dries every tear

And eases every fear

It’s plain to see

He brings out the best in me

I’m thankful for life lessons

That come after confessions

Right or wrong

They keep me strong

I carry them everywhere

Cause I know God is there

I’m thankful for life

As I deal with strife

I gain strength

By talking with God at length

I feel His power

Hour after hour

That’ll all I know

It helps me grow

I’ll go to my grave

Cherishing the love He gave

And in a loud voice

I’ll rejoice

Because I’m thankful

Nick Of Time

The clock ticks consistently

And it’s no mystery

As I embark on my journey

I get a little lonely

As I continue on my way

I pray every day

I never know what I’ll find

I just want peace of mind

Suddenly, while in my prime

God arrives in the nick of time

I stumble here and there

As I search for someone to care

No one’s around

As I search for solid ground

I long to hear a reassuring voice

As I make my choice

I look in the mirror

Then everything becomes clearer

While in my prime

God appears in the nick of time

Til Tomorrow

We’ve been on an amazing journey

Filled with love only

We’ve survived the years

With laughter and tears

We ran our race

At our own pace

It was what we planned

As we held God’s hand

Suddenly we couldn’t pretend

We knew it had to end

So til tomorrow

We’ll forget our sorrow

We’ve shared more than most

We used to hold each other close

We gave our all

Until we began to fall

With each passing day

We knew love wasn’t going to stay

Let’s remember what we had

It’ll make us glad

Til tomorrow

We’ll forget our sorrow

We’ve reached the end of our rainbow

That’s all we know

It’s crystal clear

How we got here

Although we didn’t last

We can learn from the past

It’s in our hearts

Where everything starts

So til tomorrow

We’ll forget our sorrow

In The Middle Of The Night

In the middle of the night

I hold my pillow tight

I whisper a prayer

Cause I know God is there

He offers peace of mind

That’s hard to find

We talk for a while

The conversation makes me smile

In the middle of the night

I embrace God’s will

For He loves me still

It’s hard to forget

I proceed without regret

Faith is the key

It brings out the best in me

I can stand

With one touch of His hand

In the middle of the night

I study God’s word

It’s the best I’ve ever heard

It shows me the way

As I go through the day

I begin to grow

As I share what I know

No matter what I do

God carries me through

For He is a guiding light

In the middle of the night

Secret Lovers

We meet in unknown places

That lack familiar faces

All we have is desire

That sets our souls on fire

Our eyes meet

Nothing could ever be so sweet

We take a stance

As we begin a lovers dance

We know it’s wrong

But the feeling is strong

We know it’s real

We live it with zeal

We clearly see

Where we want to be

Every touch

Means so much

One kiss

Is hard to resist

For we both know

How far we can go

We’ll go with our hearts

Where everything starts

For unlike others

We’re secret lovers
