Pain To Purpose

We spend every day

Trying to find our way

We grapple with doubt

Until God works things out

We feel weak

Until we hear God speak

We fall then rise again

Knowing faith will help us win

We face our naysayers

As we say our prayers

We feel insecure

Before God offers something pure

We search high and low

For what will help us grow

Until God sets our path

Without unleashing His wrath

We finally see our purpose

Lying at the surface

We build the dreams

That make us burst at the seams

We see what we’ll gain

Through heartache and pain

We hang on the encouraging word

That deserves to be heard

We learn to smile

We laugh a little while

God gives us a home

Where our souls can roam

We travel far

As we heal every scar

Life gets better

As we embrace it to the letter

We see what’s in stone

Why God won’t leave us alone

We feel brand new

When we see what God can do

We count blessings granted

We water the seeds we planted

We fill every chapter

With joy and laughter

We keep traveling

Without unraveling

God has something for us

In Him we trust

We reflect on the journey

Meant just for us only

We see how we survived

How we thrived

And turned pain into purpose

I long to hold you close

What I feel is real

Too difficult to conceal

God planted the seed

To a blessing indeed

I think of us doing a dance

To celebrate our romance

My thoughts fill my soul

They make me whole

Strange though it seems

I see us sharing moments of pleasure

Beyond all measure

It would make me rejoice
