Broken dreams
Appear from time to time
Even while in our prime
They are an obstacle
Faith makes things possible
They appear day and night
As we follow our guiding light
They can bring us to our knees
Before we see who to please
They make crystal clear
What we should hold dear
We must pray
As we go through the day
Broken dreams set things in stone
Show that we’re not alone
They can make us fall
But God answers every call
They are the key
To what’s meant to be
And they keep us strong
All day long
Broken dreams carry us through
They show what God can do
They take us to a place
Filled with mercy and grace
They’re disguised as the word
We’ve always heard
They fill the heart
They show us where to start
They never let us go
They reveal what we know
They can turn us around
Before we find solid ground
They can reveal the journey
Meant for us only
As we learn to stand
While holding God’s hand
In the meantime
We keep going
All while knowing
God will repair
Our broken dreams
