I see the footprints of time

As I remember my prime

They show all my days

How I changed my ways

The tears I cried

How hard I tried

The blessings that came

How I let go of shame

The silent prayer

That showed God was there

What I knew was real

What my heart can’t conceal

The woman in me

What’s truly meant to be

What’s set in stone

Why God won’t leave me alone

The reason I smile

And why the smile last awhile

I see the footprints of time

They show who I adore

What fills me to the core

My second chance

My victory dance

The journey I embrace

My safe and secure space

The lessons I learned

The stripes I earned

The strength I gain

Through heartache and pain

The voice I raise

During songs of praise

The heart that beats

Where God and I meet

The things I favor

The moments I savor

How I sit still

As I accept God’s will

The next chapter

My joy and laughter

And what makes sense

As I look at my footprints

True Love

We share every day

In a very special way

We hold each other close

Cause bonding matters most

We embrace the journey

Ordained by God only

We ignore our naysayers

As we say our prayers

Knowing God is with us

In Him we trust
