Stepping Stone

I’ve traveled a long distance

While taking the path of least resistance

I’ve been through the fire

Down to the wire

Searching for my name

I hung my head in shame

I’ve fallen and risen again

But God showed me how to win

I learned along the way

I cherished every day

I see I wasn’t alone

I’ve reached a stepping stone

I’ve struggled with fear

Until I learned God was near

Some thought I wouldn’t last

But I learned from the past

I’ve been weak

Until I heard God speak

Naysayers come and go

But naysayers have taught me to grow

I’ve learned about life

And how to avoid strife

I see I wasn’t alone

I’ve reached a stepping stone

I’ve been lost

Not knowing at what cost

God finally found me

And I’m where I’m suppose to be

I’ve been scorned

Had my heart torn

But God was there

To offer tender loving care

My heart and soul changed

My life was rearranged

I see I wasn’t alone

I’ve reached a stepping stone
