I’ve seen some dark days

While trying to change my ways

Without unleashing His wrath

While moving from place to place

Before God gave me a home

Where my soul can roam

I’ve been unsure

I’ve felt insecure

Before God gave me something pure

I’ve felt alone

Before God revealed what’s in stone

I’ve wondered what I’d find

Until God gave me peace of mind

I’ve looked in my heart

To see where to start

Until God revealed my purpose

Before it rose to the surface

I’ve learned to stand

While holding God’s hand

I’ve said a silent prayer

Wondering if God was there

Before He performed a miracle

While standing on principle

I’ve had God lift me up

Then fill my cup

Faith opened my eyes

To a wonderful surprise

God set my path

Without unleashing His wrath

My test turned into a testimony
