The Long Walk Home

During the long walk home

I let my mind and soul roam

I thought of beautiful days

God’s loving ways

All the blessings granted

All the seeds I planted

The divine purpose

I saw lying at the surface

How God fills my core

Before He offers me more

Every moment of pleasure

I cherished beyond measure

The perfect peace

My heart won’t release

My solid ground

All the joy I found

How God lifts me up

Then fills my cup

What lies in stone

Why I’m never left alone

What makes me smile

Even laugh a little while

How faith removed all doubt

That things will work out

During the long walk home

My heart and mind began to roam

I thought of all the dreams

That make me burst at the seams

The encouraging word

That deserves to be heard

How I survive every storm

Then break every norm

The beautiful place

Filled with mercy and grace

How God removes my fear

Whenever He holds me near

How I learn to stand

As I hold God’s hand

How I fall then rise again

Knowing with faith I win

The divine power

I feel hour after hour

What soothes my soul

What makes me whole

The ordained journey

Meant just for me only

What’s meant for me

Things that are meant to be

Why God will never pretend

And His love will never end
