Out Of The Dark

We’ve endured a great deal

Didn’t know what was real

We’ve been shamed

We’ve been defamed

We’ve been through the fire

Down to the wire

Looking for solid ground

No matter who was around

And our hearts are pure

Cause we’re sure

We’ve come out of the dark

We took one step at a time

So that we’d remember our prime

It took so long

Only faith kept us strong

We ignored naysayers

Instead we said our prayers

Life kept us on our toes

How we made it only God knows

He’s one of a kind

He offered us peace of mind

He made it clear

That our destiny was near

And now we have something pure

Cause we’re sure

We’ve come out of the dark

Look into my eyes

What do you see

Something truly meant to be

Pure unconditional love

Sent by heaven above

A God given gift

That gives others a lift

God’s unlimited power

Which moves hour after hour

And a purpose

That just rose to the surface

A woman on a mission

With crystal clear vision

A woman with a light

She follows day and night

A woman who grows

As she shares what she knows

A woman who dreams

Until she burst at the seams

A woman who stays on course

Without an ounce of remorse

And that should be no surprise

Just once we took a journey

Ordained by God only

We learned a lot along the way

We carried life lessons with us everyday

We began to smile

The smile lasted awhile

We shared what we had

The moment made us glad

And life got better

Cause we embraced it to the letter

Just once we shared a love

Sent from heaven above

God made clear

What we should hold dear

We held hands

Right where love stands

It was something pure

It made us feel secure

Nothing can compare

To the bond we share

We looked each other in the eyes

And found a wonderful surprise

That will last

Despite a difficult past

Just once

Last Night

Last night we prayed

Right where love stayed

We stood perfectly still

As we accepted God’s will

We prepared for a new day

In a very special way

We counted every blessing

Without a lot of stressing

And we held each other close

Cause love matters most

Last night we let go of fear

Cause we saw God standing near

We searched our hearts

We discovered where love starts

We planted the seeds

That lead to good deeds

We found a place

Filled with God’s grace

We began to grow

As we shared what we know

We began to see

What’s truly meant to be

And we found a new light

As we prayed last night
