Visions

I awaken each day

Feeling a different way

God directs my path

Without unleashing His wrath

I see things as I go

Learning is all I know

I can’t turn my back

On a journey that offers what I lack

I continue walking

God and I continue talking

A change is near

The beating heart

Is the key

To love eternally

It beats all day

In a special way

It speaks with a voice

Meant to rejoice

It declares

As it shares

And it embraces a journey

Meant for two only

The beating heart is sincere

There’s nothing to fear

Right or wrong

The beat is strong

It goes to a place

Filled with guidance and grace

It reveals its power

Hour after hour

And it stays on solid ground

No matter who’s around

It’s something one can feel

It’s something you can’t conceal

At its core

You’ll want more of

Healing

Woke up with a smile

Which stayed for a while

Never shed a tear

Cause my God was near

I’m filled to the core

Yet I long for more

I let go of the past

I make every moment last

And it’s easy to see

What’s meant to be

Spent the day singing songs of praise

Cause my voice I had to raise

Life is a gift

Which gives me a lift

I’ve come a long way

From what hurt me every day

But I’ve learned lessons

That have turned into confessions

I stop to smell the roses

While striking a few poses

It’s been a long time coming for sure

I feel secure

I’m on solid ground

Due to the joy I found

I’m no longer reeling

I’m healing

Blessed Not Broken

We’ve been through the fire

Down to the wire

We’ve been through trials

That impacted our smiles

Backs against the wall

We knew who to call

It didn’t take long

To see where we belong

Now we know

What’s going to make us grow

We’ve traveled far

To discover who we are

We’ve faced naysaysers

As we said our prayers

Peace of mind

Was difficult to find

We searched every day

For a better way

God suddenly appeared
