Suppose To Be

I wake every day

God sends me on my way

I never know what I’ll find

Prayer gives me peace of mind

The journey is long

But faith keeps me strong

Naysayers I ignore

Cause I’m filled to the core

I have solid ground

So I share the joy I’ve found

Winter, spring, summer, fall

God answers when I call

I tell my story

I embrace His glory

No matter what I do

God will carry me through

He rest inside me

And that’s how it’s suppose to be

Reaching For A Dream

I’m reaching for a dream

As strange as it may seem

I see what I’ve been through

I see what I used to do

I know what I see

I’m not who I used to be

I’m going to follow God’s lead

It’ll help me succeed

In every conceivable way

I see it every day

I’m reaching for a dream

I know where I’m going

I move while knowing

What’s in store

I’m filled to the core

I see up ahead

I feel no dread

Everything is pure

I feel secure

I see my purpose

Rising to the surface

I have no doubt

God will work things out

He’s always there

With tender loving care

So as strange as it may seem

I’m reaching for a dream

The Weight

The weight may appear every day

It may stand in your way

It’ll try to keep you down

Keep you wearing a frown

It may cause confusion

It isn’t an illusion

It may cause fear

You may not know who’s near

And it’ll leave you alone

In your own zone

But God is always present

He’ll dry your tears

He’ll ease your fears

Your burdens He’ll share

He’ll offer tender loving care

You’ll arrive in a place

Filled with His grace

Life will be great

When He removes the weight

My Testimony

I was lost and alone

With nothing to call my own

I’ve been through the fire

Down to the wire

I’ve been shamed

I’ve been defamed

I’ve been down

Always wore a frown

But then God came along

Now I sing a different song

I’ve been weak

Didn’t know how to speak

I’ve wallowed in fear

Didn’t know what was near

I’ve been abused

I’ve been misused

I’ve had to cry

Without understanding why

But God rescued me

That’s a great place to be

The love is pure

I feel safe and secure

I’m no longer lonely

And this is my testimony
