I hear old folks say
They know faith is the key
To what’s meant to be
They have dreams
That make them burst at the seams
They hold each other close
Cause bonding matters most
God turned them around
Then put them on solid ground
They move without fear
Cause their God is near
They see their purpose
Lying at the surface
Every time they fall
God answers their call
They know what to ignore
Cause they’re filled to the core
They’ve changed their view
Cause they know what God can do
They know their name
They’ve let go of their shame
They hold God’s hand
Right where they stand
And their life lessons
Have become heartfelt confessions
I hear old folks say
They do a victory dance
Whenever they get a chance
They look straight ahead
Without an ounce of dread
Cause God set their path
Without unleashing His wrath
They rest in a home
Where their souls can roam
They have no doubt
That God will work things out
They feel unconditional love
Coming from heaven above
They hang on the encouraging word
They’ve always heard
They cherish every day
