Last night

We said a prayer

Thanking God for being there

We counted blessings galore

As God filled us to the core

We reflected on the journey

Meant for us only

As we prepared for another day

To celebrate our second chance

We looked straight ahead

Without an ounce of dread

And faith lifted us up

Then filled our cup

Last night

We thought about life anew

We saw what God can do

We planted the seeds

That lead to good deeds

We saw our purpose

Rise to the surface

We found moments of pleasure

Beyond all measure

We saw a place

Filled with mercy and grace

We fell then rose again

Knowing faith helped us win

We reached our peak

When we heard God speak

We got a new name

We let go of our shame

We found something pure

We felt safe and secure

We saw lessons learned

All the stripes we earned

And we saw our guiding light

The Lord makes a way

We embrace every journey

Our purpose becomes clear

We move without fear

We build new dreams

That makes us burst at the seams

We get stronger

As our day gets longer

We hold each other close

Cause bonding matters most

We feel God’s power

Hour after hour

We look into our hearts

Then see where love starts

We learn what to ignore

As God fills us to the core
