A father figure raised me

He talked about what’s in stone

Why God won’t leave me alone

How it rises to the surface

What God can do

How it feels like morning dew

And how I’d grow

By sharing what I know

I had a father figure

Brave and strong

He taught me right and wrong

He gave me direction

And plenty of affection

He made clear

What I should hold dear

He said I’d go far

While reaching for a star

He talked about God’s word

One I’ve always heard

The beautiful place

Filled with mercy and grace

He said count my blessings

Without a lot of stressing

He said faith would turn me around

Put me on solid ground

He showed what’s by design

Why everything is fine

He was my father figure

God is saying to you today, “Your name is blessed. Your home is blessed. Your career is blessed. Your family is blessed. I speak blessings over your life. This is your time to be blessed.”

Faith makes up a lot in life.

Let go and let God.

God works in mysterious ways.

Looking high and low

At what we all know

Traveling far and wide

Seeing things we can’t hide

Staying in prayer

Knowing God is there

Looking at lessons learned

And all the stripes we’ve earned

Embracing God’s power

Hour after hour

Looking at the purpose

Hanging on God’s word
