Soul Searching

Looking at my heart

To see where to start

Saying a silent prayer

As I see God standing there

Wondering what’s real

What my heart can’t conceal

Wondering about my mission

Trying to clear my vision

Trying to stand

As God holds my hand

Trying to ignore the noise

Trying to show some poise

Thinking of the journey

Meant for me only

Searching for a place

Filled with mercy and grace

Looking for my purpose

While standing at the surface

Wondering how to live

Wondering how to give

Wanting to love

Just like heaven above

Longing for a word

Unlike any I’ve heard

Searching for solid ground

Wondering what I’ve found

Trying to be strong

Thinking of right and wrong

Longing for God’s affection

Needing His protection

Searching for a light

I can follow day and night

Wanting a hand to hold

Wanting my story to be told

Looking at the past

Wanting to make the moment last

Grappling with doubt

Wanting things to work out

Looking at my empty cup

Trying to lift myself up

Looking straight ahead

Without an ounce of dread

Knowing God is working for sure

Giving me something pure

He’ll keep working

As I’m soul searching

Awakening

A new day appears

Faith removes our fears

We embrace a new journey

Meant for us only

We say a silent prayer

Thanking God for being there

He reveals what’s in stone

Why He never leaves us alone

We marvel at what we see

Knowing it’s meant to be

We embrace life lessons

That become heartfelt confessions

Nothing could be better

As we embrace life to the letter

We change our view

When we see what God can do

We count blessings galore

As God fills us to the core

The world learns our name

We let go of the shame

We learn to stand

As we hold God’s hand

Faith removes every cloud

The moment makes us proud

We stay close to God

With a wink and nod

We do a victory dance

When we get a chance

As God fills every soul

With what makes it whole

We rest on solid ground

We share the joy we found

We break into a smile

The smile last a while

God stays by our side

As our loving guide

We gain strength

As we talk with Him at length

We embrace our mission

With crystal clear vision

God never pretends

Cause His love never ends

Love Land

Let’s go to love land

Where we’ll see God’s hand

A beautiful place

Filled with mercy and grace

A place void of fear

Cause God is always near

A place that offers strength

As we talk at length

One that will turn us around

Put us on solid ground

A place where hearts run free

And we know it’s meant to be

A place set in stone

Where we’re never alone

A place where we can learn

See all the stripes we’ll earn

A place filled with a word

We’ve always heard

A place filled to the core

One that will offer us more

Let’s go to love land

A place warm and pure

It’ll make us feel secure

A placed filled with a light

We can follow day and night

A place that offers direction

As well as protection

A place that offers a surprise

Whenever we open our eyes

A place that teaches us to live

Teaches us to give

Teaches us to love

Just like heaven above

A place that’s real

Shows what we can’t conceal

A place that removes all doubt

That God will work things out

So, let’s take a hand

As we visit love land
