The Word

There’s a thing called the word

It’s the best we’ve heard

It fills every day

It shows us the way

It comes from heaven above

It reveals God’s love

It teaches lessons

That become heartfelt confessions

It’s part of every journey

Meant for us only

It is a treasure

Beyond all measure

It gives us strength

Whenever we talk with God at length

And it keeps us close

Cause we matter most

The word is real

Too difficult to conceal

It cuts like a knife

It removes all strife

It fills every place

With mercy and grace

It teaches us to live

To teaches us to give

It makes us see

What’s meant to be

It shows us what to do

As God carries us through

It allows purpose

To rise to the surface

It offers something pure

It makes us feel secure

It plants the seeds

That lead to good deeds

It sets things in stone

It never leaves us alone

It’s part of a plan

God reveals when He can

It travels far

Without leaving a scar

And it’s the best we’ve heard

It’s called the word

Tender Touch

I feel your tender touch

It means so much

It makes me sure

It makes me feel secure

It shows what we share

It shows that you care

It makes me see

We’re truly meant to be

It fills every day

In a very special way

It sets things in stone

Reminds me I’m not alone

It gives me strength

Whenever we talk at length

And it’s like a word

That’s the best I’ve heard

Your tender touch fills my soul

It makes me whole

It helps me stand

As I hold your hand

It fills every step I take

Shows the memories we’ll make

It is a guide

That never leaves my side

It represents your power

Hour after hour

It makes me proud

I don’t have to talk loud

It plants the seeds

That lead to good deeds

It offers something real

Too difficult to conceal

It takes me far

As I reach for a star

It keeps me close

Like I matter most

It gives me the space

To run my race

And removes my fear

Whenever you’re near

Yes, your tender touch

Means so much

Facing Fear

We face every day

Come what may

We wonder what we’ll find

As we search for peace of mind

We look all around

For what we call solid ground

Before we find our purpose

Lying at the surface

Sometimes we’re unsure

We feel insecure

But God plants the seed

To a blessing indeed

He keeps us strong

Whether we’re right or wrong

We see what we’ll gain

Through heartache and pain

We grapple with doubt

As God works things out

We look for what means all

Until God answers our call

We search for love

In heaven above

We face time

While still in our prime

Wondering where to go

How to share what we know

We suddenly find a place

Filled with mercy and grace

It seems real

Too difficult to conceal

We face our naysayers

As we say our prayers

It fills us to the core

Makes us beg for more

We continue to learn

Our stripes we earn

We see God standing near

While facing fear

Testimony

We face every day

In our own special way

Every moment is a journey

Meant for us only

We learn lessons

That become heartfelt confessions

We swallow every bitter pill

Knowing it’s God’s will

We stumble here and there

But we see God everywhere

We face our naysayers

As we say our prayers

We sit and wait

For what will make us great

Suddenly, we see our purpose

Rise to the surface

Obstacles fill every space

As we run our race

Yet we keep going

All while knowing

God is with us

In Him we trust

We feel His touch

It means so much

He is the guide

Who stays by our side

Sometimes we’re unsure

We feel insecure

Yet God holds our hand

Right where we stand

We gain strength

When we talk with Him at length

We fall and rise again

Yet God teaches us to win

We travel far

While healing every scar

God fills our soul

With what makes us whole

Life gets better

As we embrace it to the letter

We feel all alone

But God sets things in stone

Every step we take

Is a memory we’ll make

And every test for us only

Becomes a testimony
